Your VZ Credit Card Visa Gold offers the cover outlined below – not just for you, but also for all other cardholders, your spouse or partner if they live with you, and your dependent children under 25 if they live with you or are resident in Switzerland.

Example of an insurance situation 

You go down with the flu shortly before your trip and have to cancel your flight and hotel accommodation.

  • The trip is cancelled or commenced later due to an insured event (e.g. illness, accident or death) involving you, people close to you or fellow travellers.

You suffer from food poisoning during your trip and have to cut it short.

  • The trip is interrupted, extended or abandoned due to an insured event (e.g. illness, accident or death).

You suffer from acute appendicitis while on holiday and have to be taken to hospital for an emergency operation. Your basic health insurance only covers part of the cost.

You're involved in an accident while travelling on a bus abroad and are paralysed as a result.

  • The luggage fails to turn up within four hours of the arrival of the insured person at the destination (excluding the place of residence).
  • The delay occurred in connection with travel by public transport.

Prerequisites

  • At least 60% of the price of the insured item was paid with a Viseca credit card, and the insured item is intended for private purposes.   
  • Both the purchased item and its cheaper equivalent originate from a merchant based in Switzerland (e.g. retail store, mail-order business, online supplier).
  • The identical, cheaper equivalent that is available to buy can be proven to have been discovered within 14 days of the purchase.
  • The price difference is at least CHF 30.

Guarantee extension

Your mobile phone suddenly stops working shortly after its guarantee expires.

Prerequisites

  • At least 60% of the price of the insured device was paid with a Viseca credit card.
  • The insured device is not more than five years old in the event of a claim and has an expired manufacturer's guarantee or dealer's warranty.
  • The insured device is intended for private purposes and was purchased from a merchant based in Switzerland or its neighbouring countries (Germany, France, the Principality of Liechtenstein, Italy or Austria) or from an online shop aimed at Switzerland (e.g. ".ch" internet address and/or payment in CHF).
  • The value of the device is at least CHF 100.

Prerequisites

  • Within 30 days of the purchase, the insured item has been stolen, destroyed or damaged or, in the case of an online purchase, either delivered incorrectly or not delivered at all, or the seller has refused to take it back.
  • At least 60% of the price of the insured item was paid with a Viseca credit card, and the insured item is intended for private purposes.
  • The value of the item is at least CHF 50.
