What is phishing?

It refers to attempts to gain unauthorised access to a third party's assets via fake emails, websites, text messages or phone calls. Hackers don't attack banks or card companies directly, but rather their customers.

A successful phishing attack results in you revealing sensitive information such as your login details for online banking or debit card data. The hackers then initiate fraudulent transactions or payments.

Phishing is on the rise, including in Switzerland. The methods are becoming increasingly sophisticated, partly as a result of AI – from fake emails, text messages and phone calls to deceptively realistic websites.

How do couples benefit from the discount?

For couples living in the same household, the second person is insured free of charge. However, it's important that both individuals take out their own insurance policies. The premium is charged only once for both policies.
