European stock movers in focus:

----------

STMicroelectronics NV, down 13% at EUR50.58 in Milan, 12-month range EUR18.21-EUR70.86. The semiconductor company reports second quarter net income of USD222 million, swinging from a loss of USD97 million a year prior and improving on quarter of USD37 million. Revenue rises 26% annually to USD3.49 billion, up 13% on-quarter. For the third quarter, the revenue outlook is USD3.70 billion, which Reuters, citing LSEG data, reports is below the average analyst estimate of USD3.72 billion. It would also represent an annual growth slowdown to 16%.

----------

Nestle SA, down 6.8% at CHF80.43, 12-month range CHF69.90-CHF87.09. The consumer goods maker reports a decline in half-year profit and announces a deal to offload for EUR3.0 billion a chunk of its bottled water business, which houses brands such as Source Perrier and Acqua Panna. Nestle will form an equally-owned joint-venture with private equity firm Platinum Equity LLC named Peranel. The deal values Peranel at EUR4.9 billion on an enterprise basis, with Nestle's expected cash proceeds to be around EUR3.0 billion. The agreement is expected to close in the second half of 2027. Nestle says net profit in the first half of 2026 was CHF3.47 billion, around USD4.26 billion, down 31% from CHF5.07 billion a year prior. The KitKat and Nescafe owner's sales fall 2.5% to CHF43.11 billion from CHF44.23 billion. Profit misses company-compiled consensus of CHF5.07 billion, but sales beat consensus of CHF43.04 billion.

----------

Segro PLC, up 6.6% at 954.4p, 12-month range 603.00p-969.00p. Shares hit this 12-month high on Thursday. The warehouse property investor says it is prepared to recommend Prologis's "best and final" takeover proposal, potentially ending an M&A saga. Latest proposal comprises 0.0920 new Prologis shares for each Segro share, alongside a partial cash alternative of up to GBP3.5 billion, representing 25% of the total consideration. Based on Prologis' closing share price on Tuesday and prevailing exchange rates, the proposal values Segro at 1,031.70 pence per share, or around GBP14.0 billion. Analysts at Peel Hunt say on Thursday: "We had previously stated our fair value at 1,050p+, and the latest proposal just about reaches this level (although we also note that based on Prologis's current share price, the offer value has reduced to c.1,027p including the final dividend). Prologis has also committed to a London listing, although we do wonder how long this will last given the US is likely to dominate trading and liquidity."

----------

Dassault Systemes SE, up 2.5% at EUR18.20, 12-month range EUR15.82-EUR33.16. The product development software maker's attributable net income in the first half of 2026 increases 4.7% to EUR409.5 million from EUR391.0 million a year prior, while revenue climbs 2.1% to EUR1.56 billion from EUR1.52 billion. "Good Q2 performance keeps us firmly on track for the full year. We're not just executing on our objectives, we are transforming the company, launching new categories of AI solutions, all while improving cash flow and margin. This is growth and discipline together," Chief Financial Officer Rouven Bergmann says. In addition, it strikes a deal to acquire ArisGlobal for USD1.8 billion upfront, with USD200 million to come stemming from "AI-related revenue milestones". ArisGlobal is an enterprise compliance platform for the Life Sciences industry.

----------

Nokia Corp, up 2.3% at EUR9.38, 12-month range EUR3.42-EUR15.00. The telecommunications network infrastructure says net profit slumps 95% on-year to EUR5 million in the second quarter of 2026, from EUR96 million a year prior, but net sales rise 8.4% to EUR4.82 billion from EUR4.44 billion. Research and development expenses rise 21% to EUR1.38 billion, and it reports a EUR22 million loss from discontinued operations, up from EUR3 million on-year.
