(AWP Alliance News) - Varia US Properties AG signed a definitive agreement with Brookfield Asset Management affiliates to place 13 of its 17 U.S. multifamily properties into a newly formed USD 693.9 million two-vehicle joint venture. The deal includes up to USD 200 million of equity capital for future acquisitions to support a shift toward a higher-quality portfolio.

The 13 properties total 4,112 units across nine U.S. states. Four properties will remain wholly owned and consolidated outside the joint venture.
