European stock movers in focus:

----------

BT Group, up 5.4% at 224.55p, 12-month range 173.00p-242.09p. The Financial Times reports Virgin Media O2 is nearing a deal to use BT's fibre broadband network, halting upgrade plans of its own. Citing people familiar with the matter, the Financial Times reports VMO2 will use Openreach for new customers in area not covered by its own existing network. VMO2, co-owned by Telefonica SA and Liberty Global Ltd, is one of BT's biggest UK broadband rivals.

----------

Sanofi, up 4.6% at EUR79.67, 12-month range EUR69.75-EUR90.79. Shares climb as the pharmaceutical firm lifts its annual guidance and reports double-digit third quarter sales growth on strong demand for its Dupixent treatment. Sanofi now expects annual sales growth in the low teens at constant currency, raised from around 10% previously. Business earnings per share are to grow by a mid-teens percentage, compared with its previous forecast for growth slightly faster than sales.

----------

Infineon Technologies, down 4.2% at EUR51.74, 12-month range EUR31.27-EUR88.83. Shares in the semiconductor manufacturer are hit by as sentiment towards stocks with an artificial intelligence sector exposure takes a dive again. At the heart of the sell-off, Amazon.com Inc is down 6.7% in pre-market trade in New York. "Amazon delivered strong cloud growth, and revenues climbed 12% YoY, however, earnings per share was weaker than expected, and free cash flow turned negative to the tune of USD42.4 billion, due in part to its USD220 billion AI spend. Considering its main AI unit, Amazon Web Services, generated USD46 billion in revenues last quarter, the cost of Amazon's AI ambitions is not yet justified by sales, even though AWS sales growth is rising at a fast pace," XTB analyst Kathleen Brooks comments.

----------

AstraZeneca, up 4.0% at 13,573.00p, 12-month range 9,892.00p-15,732.00p. The drugmaker posts strong third quarter results with sales ahead of forecast. Pretax profit rises 22% to USD3.96 billion in the third quarter ended September 30 from USD3.24 billion a year earlier. Revenue increases 6.7% to USD16.21 billion from USD15.19 billion, beating USD15.94 billion company compiled consensus by 1.7%.
