(AWP Alliance News) - Family owners of Anheuser-Busch InBev NV have divested a EUR731 million stake in the company, Bloomberg reported on Monday.
The Leuven, Belgium-based brewer saw about 10 million of its shares, priced at EUR73.10 each, offered in a block trade by Eugenie Patri Sebastien SA, according to terms of a deal seen by Bloomberg.
AB InBev shares were down 2.7% to EUR73.18 on Monday morning in Brussels, giving the company a market capitalisation of EUR131.74 billion. The stock has risen 45% over the past year.
EPS is a Luxembourg-based vehicle which holds interests for some of AB InBev's historical owners - the Van Damme, de Mevius and de Spoelberch families.
AB InBev's website lists EPS's direct stake as 3.42%, though the vehicle also has a 50% interest in Stichting AK Netherlands, which itself owns 33.63% of AB InBev.
According to Bloomberg, the offering was arranged by JPMorgan Chase & Co.
Last week, AB InBev posted net profit of USD7.06 billion for the six months that ended June 30, up from USD4.57 billion a year earlier. Net profit for the second quarter that ended June 30 doubled to USD4.08 billion from USD2.02 billion a prior year.
Revenue for the first half rose 12% to USD31.93 billion from USD28.63 billion, while second-quarter revenue was up 11% to USD16.66 billion from USD15.00 billion.
For 2026 as a whole, AB InBev has guided earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation to grow in line with its medium-term outlook of 4% to 8%.
