European stock movers in focus:
----------
Airtel Africa, down 8.8% at 325.2p, 12-month range 219.00p-436.20p. The initial public offering of Airtel Money will be smaller than previously targeted, Bloomberg reports, citing people familiar with the matter. The money transfer and payments will now raise at least USD800 million in its London float, below a previously targeted USD1.5 billion to USD2 billion range, Bloomberg says. Airtel Money is now mulling a valuation between USD8 billion and USD9 billion, lower than a previously viewed USD10 billion. Airtel Money is roughly 78% owned by Bharti Airtel International (Netherlands) BV, which itself is part of telecommunications firm Airtel Africa. Minority investors in the company include Qatar Holdings LLC, the investment arm of Qatar's sovereign wealth fund and MasterCard Inc. In July, Airtel Africa set London as the primary listing location for the proposed IPO of Airtel Money. The company had previously expected to list the unit in the first half of this year, but in May said it expected the IPO to occur in the second half of 2026.
----------
Nokia Corp, up 2.7% at EUR9.50 in Helsinki, 12-month range EUR3.87-EUR15.00. Nokia shares had tumbled 10% as the telecom network infrastructure firm was caught up in market worries surrounding the artificial intelligence sector. But market sentiment towards the sector has improved as the week as gone on, and Nokia has also announced deals of its own. On Thursday, it said it extended its partnership with Microsoft Corp, focused on data management for the telecommunications sector. On Wednesday, it said it signed a memorandum of understanding with UK-based C3IA to strengthen collaboration and support the digital transformation of Britain's defence sector.
----------
Glencore PLC, down 2.6% at 565.30p in London, 12-month range 304.40p-707.20p. The Financial Times reports Glencore suspends senior executive Peter Hill as the miner looks into its ties with Radiant World, an iron ore trader. Radiant and "10 other companies" have filed proceedings in Singapore courts against Glencore International AG and associated companies, according to a statement on Radiant's website. They are pursuing claims for damages exceeding USD2 billion. Hill has been stood down pending an outcome of a probe of Glencore's relationship with Radiant, the FT reports, citing a person familiar with the matter. Hill is Glencore's head of steelmaking raw materials. Glencore on Tuesday said it exited all obligations with the iron ore trader and associated companies as it claimed they sent falsified invoices to lenders. In a statement, Glencore said: "We take these issues seriously and are conducting a review of our historic business activities with Radiant World, Sapphire Minmetals and associated companies. We have stopped doing business with these companies and have exited all obligations." It said the exposure to Radiant World and associated companies is "not material" to its financial position, being below the USD500 million threshold. "Taking into account provisions already booked, we are well below this threshold," it added.
----------
Nestle, down 2.1% at CHF76.92, 12-month range CHF70.29-CHF87.09. It is reviewing its options after its Russian business is placed under administration. The KitKat and Nescafe brand owner, based in the town of Vevey on Lake Geneva in Switzerland, notes a presidential decree from Russia, published on Thursday, which places its operations in the country "under temporary administration". "The company is assessing the situation and its options," it says on Friday. "Nestle is committed to taking all necessary steps to protect its rights and ensure continuity of business operations in the interests of all stakeholders, particularly its employees."
