(AWP Alliance News) - Oracle Corp and Amazon Web Services on Thursday expanded their strategic collaboration as Oracle AI Database@AWS expanded its offerings.
Oracle, the Austin, Texas-based software and cloud infrastructure company, and AWS, the cloud computing arm of Seattle-based technology company, Amazon.com Inc, said that their Oracle AI Database@AWS offering expanded to 22 AWS regions and added new capabilities.
The expanded long-term collaboration will focus on "accelerating customer migration" to the joint service.
Oracle added that the new capabilities "give enterprises a lower-cost path to migrate Oracle databases and integrate them with AWS analytics and AI services."
"Just one year after general availability, Oracle AI Database@AWS has reached global scale, with customers running business-critical workloads, and 22 AWS Regions available across Asia Pacific, Europe, and the Americas," said Nathan Thomas, senior vice president and product management at Oracle.
"This momentum demonstrates that enterprises want a simpler, lower-cost path to modernize their most important Oracle workloads within AWS environments," added Thomas.
Amazon shares traded down 0.5% at USD265.87 each in New York on Thursday, while shares in Oracle traded up 1.6% at USD155.80 each in New York.
