Description

(AWP Alliance News) - Nvidia Corp on Wednesday noted that artificial intelligence companies across the industry were adopting its Nvidia Cuda-X libraries to build AI agents to advance AI fabs.

The Santa Clara, California-based chipmaker said that the Cuda-X portfolio "gives AI agents and engineering applications accelerated tools for semiconductor simulation, 3D data processing and image analysis, helping automate more engineering work across chip design and manufacturing so fabs can predict process behaviour and improve yield."

"The semiconductor industry made the AI revolution possible," said Tim Costa, vice president and general manager of industrial and computational engineering at Nvidia. "Now, AI is transforming how chips are built."

Nvidia's cuPotential accelerates atomic-scale simulation with specialised GPU-accelerated functions developers can add to existing software, helping researchers model interactions across large numbers of atoms to test and refine simulations faster, according to the company. Other Cuda-X library offerings in the portfolio include cuEST for modelling electronic behaviour and cuDSS for solving complex engineering simulations.

Adopters of Nvidia's accelerated computing and AI stack include Synopsys Inc, Cadence Design Systems Inc, Siemens AG, Lam Research Corp, KLA Corp, Teradyne Inc, Advantest Corp, Applied Materials Inc, Analog Devices Inc and Fanuc Corp.

"As fabs race to meet demand for advanced chips, Nvidia Cuda-X and Omniverse libraries give AI agents accelerated simulation and inspection tools to help engineers manage complexity, improve yield and advance AI-defined fabs," added Costa.

Nvidia shares closed down 3.2% at USD221.30 each in New York on Wednesday.
