(AWP Alliance News) - Honda Motor Co Ltd on Friday said July production declined 3.2% compared to the same period a year ago.
The Tokyo-based automotive company said it produced 268,520 vehicles in July, a 3.2% decline from 277,637 produced in July of last year.
In Japan, Honda produced 68,450 units, up 1% from 67,804 units last year. China production fell to 13,932 from 55,941 the year before.
Asia production fell 41% to 50,125 units from 85,041. North America production rose 19% to 88,911 units from 67,336 units.
Honda said Japan sales rose 18% in July to 61,799 units from 52,43 a year ago.
Exports from Japan fell 8.2% to 8,589 units from 9,358 the year prior. North America exports fell 27% to 946 units from 1,304. In Europe, however, exports grew 48% to 5,390 from 3,640.
Honda shares closed up 2.4% at JPY1,702.50 on Friday in Tokyo.
