(AWP Alliance News) - Holcim AG on Wednesday said it will improve concrete quality monitoring during transit following an investment in Cloud Cycle Ltd.
Holcim, a Zug, Switzerland-based building materials company, did not reveal the extent of its investment in the London-based firm.
Founded in 2019, Cloud Cycle is a technology company that uses in-truck sensors to offer real-time, data driven systems for quality management across the concrete value chain.
Holcim's Head of Operational Excellence Ram Muthu said: "Every truck that leaves our plants generates data that can optimize our concrete's quality, our own operations, and our customers' experience. With Cloud Cycle we can capture this data at scale and in real time, extending quality monitoring beyond the plant and to the point of delivery.
"Complementing Holcim's AI-powered tools such as Q-Predict, this creates multiple quality checkpoints across the value chain, helping us improve deliveries and advance our decarbonization roadmap."
Holcim shares closed down 0.3% at CHF73.54 each in Zurich on Tuesday.
