Description

(AWP Alliance News) - Ford Motor Co on Wednesday raised full-year guidance as it looked ahead to the "defining phase" of its transformation plan.

Shares in the Dearborn, Michigan-based carmaker fell 1.3% after hours in New York on Wednesday. They had earlier closed up 2.05 at USD11.95 each.

Ford said revenue declined 2.0% to USD49.54 billion from USD50.53 billion in the September quarter. Revenue in the Automotive segment reached USD46.08 billion, below the USD46.24 billion LSEG consensus.

Net income attributable to Ford fell 16% to USD2.05 billion from USD2.45 billion. Diluted earnings per share worsened to USD0.50 from USD0.60. Adjusted EPS of USD0.49 came in ahead of the USD0.40 consensus.

"Ford delivered a strong quarter as we're entering a defining phase of the company's transformation with the launch of our universal electric vehicle platform, Ford Energy, an all-new F-150 and a new lineup of vehicles around the world over the next few years," said Chief Executive Jim Farley. In addition, our cost actions and record growth in software services and parts demonstrate how we're growing beyond the vehicle sale and moving us toward an 8% adjusted Ebit margin by 2029.:

Chief Financial Officer Sherry House added: "We are on track to deliver our full-year adjusted Ebit expectations, which include achieving our warranty and material cost reduction objectives and improving year-over-year profitability in Ford Model e. As we close the year and look ahead to 2027, we are intensely focused on driving efficiencies throughout our business - enabling us to better perform in the face of rising inflationary costs - and improving capital efficiency through smarter investments, higher utilization of existing assets and strategic partnerships."

Looking ahead, Ford now expects full-year adjusted Ebit between USD10.5 billion and USD11 billion, compared to USD10 billion to USD11 billion before.

Adjusted free cash flow and capital expenditures expectations remain at USD6 billion to USD7 billion and USD9.5 billion to USD10.5 billion, respectively.

It now expects Ford Blue Ebit around USD5.5 billion; Ford Pro EBIT around USD7 billion; Ford Model e losses of USD4 billion; and Ford Credit EBT of about USD2.8 billion.

This is up from Ford Blue Ebit of USD5 billion to USD5.5 billion, Ford Pro Ebit of USD7 billion to USD7.5 billion, and Ford Credit EBT above USD2.5 billion. It continues to expect Ford Model e losses of about USD4 billion.

Guidance does not include potential impacts of a significant escalation of the conflict in the Middle East or a material downturn in the US economy, Ford said.
