European stock movers in focus:
----------
Telecom Italia Spa, up 2.0% at EUR7.66, 12-month range EUR4.25-EUR8.19. Poste Italiane raises the cash component of its takeover offer for Telecom Italia by 18% to EUR1.97 per share, Reuters reports, as it seeks to bolster shareholder support for the bid. The state-controlled group maintains its exchange ratio of 0.218 newly issued Poste shares for each Telecom Italia share tendered. Based on Monday's closing prices, the revised terms value the offer at EUR13.15 billion, around EUR550 million more than the previous bid. The sweetened offer follows a sluggish response ahead of Friday's deadline, with Poste so far securing only an additional 5% of Telecom Italia's share capital through the bid, according to Reuters calculations based on bourse data. Poste already owned a 20% stake before launching the offer. The offer period will reopen from September 21 to 25.
----------
Novartis AG, down 9.7% at CHF113.66, 12-month range CHF96.03-CHF132.68. The pharmaceutical firm says its global phase three Harbor study of delpacibart etedesiran, or del-desiran, for patients with myotonic dystrophy type one fails to meet its primary endpoint. Del-desiran does not demonstrate a statistically significant improvement versus placebo in video hand opening time. The investigational treatment is designed to target the underlying cause of the progressive neuromuscular disease, for which there are currently no approved treatment options. President, Development & Chief Medical Officer Shreeram Aradhye says: "Developing therapies for a complex disease like DM1 remains challenging, and setbacks are part of scientific progress. As we continue to evaluate the full Harbor dataset, we remain committed to identifying the most appropriate development path for the del-desiran program and advancing innovative approaches for people living with DM1 and other serious neuromuscular diseases."
----------
Eni Spa, up 1.2% at EUR23.51, 12-month range EUR14.48-EUR25.02. The energy company tracks a rally across the sector as global oil benchmarks surge on heightened supply concerns following intense tit-for-tat military strikes between the US and Iran over the weekend. Brent crude climb above USD98 a barrel, approaching a multi-week high, while West Texas Intermediate trades above USD92.
----------
Logitech International SA, up 0.6% at CHF81.09, 12-month range CHF65.00-CHF102.80. The manufacturer of computer peripherals and software unveils MX Keypad, a customisable AI control centre aimed at developers working across multiple applications and AI coding tools. The device, developed in collaboration with GitHub, integrates with platforms including GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, VS Code and IntelliJ IDEA, allowing users to execute prompt macros, refactor code and launch commands. Logitech says developers can configure individual keys to control one or multiple applications and AI agents. The MX Keypad launches on Monday in select markets for USD99.99 or EUR99.99.
----------
Computacenter PLC, down 0.6% at 5,564.43 pence, 12-month range 2,242.00p-6,045.00p. The technology services provider raises its 2026 profit outlook following a record first half, with adjusted pretax profit now expected to be "significantly ahead of current market expectations" and no less than GBP380 million, compared with company-compiled consensus of GBP340.9 million. First-half pretax profit surges 95% to GBP142.6 million from GBP73.2 million, while revenue jumps 72% to GBP6.85 billion from GBP3.99 billion, driven primarily by North American Technology Sourcing amid buoyant data centre demand, including AI-related infrastructure. Adjusted pretax profit rises 87% to GBP152.4 million from GBP81.5 million. Computacenter lifts its interim dividend by 15% to 27.1p from 23.6p and enters the second half with a record committed order backlog of GBP9.3 billion.
