European stock movers in focus:

EssilorLuxottica SA, up 3.1% at EUR162.30, 12-month range EUR159.15-EUR323.80. Launches a share buyback programme covering up to 5 million shares, citing confidence in the group's value creation and long-term prospects. Grants a mandate to an unnamed investment services provider to begin purchases on Friday, depending on market conditions. The programme is being carried out under the authorisation approved by shareholders at EssilorLuxottica's annual general meeting in April.

Qiagen NV, down 1.2% at EUR37.31, 12-month range EUR27.87-EUR48.80. Launches QIAsymphony Connect, an automated clinical nucleic acid extraction platform designed to help laboratories standardise extraction across diverse assay workflows. The platform builds on more than 3,300 cumulative global placements of QIAsymphony and supports applications including liquid biopsy, oncology and infectious disease diagnostics. Qiagen says it has already received initial customer orders, indicating early adoption as the platform enters broader commercial availability.

Brenntag SE, up 1.9% at EUR61.55, 12-month range EUR43.72-EUR66.86. Announces exclusive distribution agreement with Zeus Hygia Life Sciences Pvt Ltd. Zeus Hygia is a Hyderabad, India-based health ingredients company which Brenntag describes as "one of the fastest growing nutraceutical ingredient companies globally and a science-led ingredient innovator." The Essen, Germany-based chemical company says the partnership agreement covers ingredients and formulations for metabolic health and glucose management, cognitive wellness, menopausal health and anti-inflammatory support. The company will act as the sole authorised distributor of Zeus Hygia's products across Eastern Europe.

Bayer AG, up 1.1% at EUR48.99, 12-month range EUR25.78-EUR53.92. Applies for extended use of the drug Kerendia in Japan for chronic kidney disease. Bayer says the application is supported by positive phase three results in adults with non-diabetic CKD. The company says Kerendia blocks the effects of mineralocorticoid receptor overactivation, which can help to prevent CKD progression and cardiovascular damage.
