European stock movers in focus:

----------

Compagnie Generale des Etablissements Michelin SCA, down 2.4% at EUR33.85, 12-month range EUR25.51-EUR35.72. Reports mixed July sales across global tyre markets. The Clermont-Ferrand, France-based tyre manufacturer says worldwide passenger car and light truck original equipment tyre sales for July is down 3% year-on-year while replacement tyre sales fall 1%. Worldwide truck and bus original equipment tyre sales rise 1% while replacement tyre sales decline 2%.

----------

Engie SA, up 1.7% at EUR24.45, 12-month range EUR17.72-EUR29.89. The energy company tracks gains across the sector amid a sharp surge in global crude oil and natural gas prices. Global benchmark Brent crude climbs above USD100 a barrel for the first time since July after the US military reports striking five Iranian oil tankers. The move follows retaliatory threats from Iran and a wave of missile and drone strikes by Iran-aligned Houthi militants that hit several Saudi Aramco energy facilities, heightening concerns over global energy supplies.

----------

Industria de Diseno Textil SA, down 3.9% at EUR54.34, 12-month range EUR42.51-EUR59.42. The Zara-owner reports higher first-half earnings and sales, while trading at the start of the second half remains positive. Net profit rises 6.8% to EUR2.98 billion in the six months to July 31 from EUR2.79 billion a year earlier, as net sales climb 7.6% to EUR19.76 billion from EUR18.36 billion. Sales increase 9.2% at constant currency, helped by demand for its spring and summer collections. Sales at the Zara grouping, which includes Zara Home and Lefties, rise 4.8% to EUR13.78 billion. Inditex says its autumn and winter collections have been "well-received", with sales between August 1 and the start of this week up 9% on-year.

----------

Hensoldt AG, down 2.0% at EUR79.88, 12-month range EUR63.18-EUR117.70. The defence electronics firm wins a EUR15 million development contract for its Optarion mission support system from Germany's Federal Office for Equipment, Information Technology & In-Service Support of the Bundeswehr. The contract covers further development of the ground station, which links command and control information systems with the German Army's airborne platforms. Hensoldt says Optarion allows existing and new aircraft to be integrated into the digital command and control network without modifications to the aircraft, reducing costs and increasing operational flexibility. The system currently supports Tiger, NH90 and CH-53GA helicopters, while Hensoldt has also delivered an international configuration to an unnamed Nato customer.

----------

Aberdeen Group PLC, up 2.2% at 253.00 pence, 12-month range 178.00p-265.00p. The Edinburgh-based wealth and asset manager names Torbjorn Magnusson as its next chair, permanently replacing Douglas Flint, who stepped down following Aberdeen's annual general meeting in April. Jonathan Asquith, who has served as interim chair since Flint's departure, will remain in the role until Magnusson's appointment takes effect following regulatory approvals. Magnusson is the former chief executive of Nordic insurer Sampo Oyj and has previously chaired Nordea Bank Abp and Hastings Group, the owner of UK insurer Hastings Direct.
