(AWP Alliance News) - Daimler Truck Holding AG on Friday reported increased sales in the third quarter, driven by a rebound in its North America segment.
Shares in the company, which is based in Leinfelden-Echterdingen near Stuttgart in Germany, opened 1.5% lower at EUR41.17 on Friday in Frankfurt.
The commercial vehicle maker said it sold 91,260 vehicles in the three months to September worldwide, up 26% from a year earlier. Electrified vehicles sold fell to 1,207 from 1,679.
The North America Trucks division sold 45,629 units as the market recovered, up 51% from last year's weak quarter, which was weighed down by uncertainty over US tariffs.
Net profit increased 53% to EUR702 million in the third quarter from EUR458 million a year earlier. Earnings per share were EUR0.91 in the period, up from EUR0.57.
Revenue rose 19% to EUR12.58 billion from EUR10.55 billion, while earnings before interest and tax almost doubled, reaching EUR1.05 billion from EUR553 million.
In the industrial business alone, which excludes financial services, Ebit rose to EUR983 million from EUR513 million.
Daimler Truck confirmed its outlook for adjusted Ebit in the range of EUR3.6 billion to EUR4.1 billion. In 2025, it reported Ebit of EUR3.5 billion.
In the Industrial Business, unit sales are expected to be between 340,000 and 370,000, while the North America business is expected to sell 160,000 to 180,000 trucks.
