(AWP Alliance News) - Coca-Cola Co on Friday announced the appointment of Rob Gehring as president of the North America operating unit.
The Atlanta, Georgia-based soft drinks maker said Gehring will assume his role on December 1, succeeding interim North America president John Murphy, who took over on August 1.
Gehring joined Coca-Cola in 1992, serving as present of the Coca-Cola Walmart global team from 2011 to 2016.
He most recently served as head of Monster Energy Co's North America, Latin America and Caribbean operations as "part of the leadership team that drove the company's growth agenda and modernised commercial capabilities," commented Coca-Cola.
"Rob is a transformational leader whose exceptional ability to develop and lead people, combined with his deep operations experience, has made him a trusted partner across our system," said Henrique Braun, chief executive of Coca-Cola.
"I am pleased to welcome him back to Coca-Cola and look forward to partnering with him to grow our business in North America," added Braun.
Coca-Cola shares closed down 0.3% at USD81.81 each in New York on Friday.
