European stock movers in focus:
----------
IG Group Holdings, down 21% at 1,007.00p, 12-month range 930.50p-1,956.00p. In a trading statement, the online trading platform said it now expects total revenue growth to be in a mid-single-digit per cent range year-on-year in 2026. According to company compiled consensus, analysts forecast revenue of GBP1.26 billion in 2026 which would have been up 12% from 2025's GBP1.12 billion. In July, IG said it expects to report at least 10% organic total compound annual revenue growth over the medium term.
----------
Stellantis, up 5.0% at EUR4.04 in Milan, 12-month range EUR3.86-EUR10.49. The carmaker on Thursday says total US sales in the third quarter were "steady" at 324,277 vehicles. For the year-to-date, they are 3% higher. "Against a highly competitive industry backdrop, we delivered a disciplined third quarter, supported by our motivated dealer network, which continued to drive our retail business," says Michael Orange, the head of US retail sales & network performance.
----------
BT Group, up 4.3% at 199.08p, 12-month range 173.00p-242.09p. BT has opened talks with UK government officials over a possible takeover of Salford, England-based TalkTalk, the Financial Times reported on Thursday. BT Chief Executive Allison Kirkby met with officials in the UK government's Department for Digital, Culture, Media & Sport to gauge whether a possible bid for TalkTalk would lead to a lengthy competition watchdog probe, the FT reported. The FT cited three people familiar with the matter. The FT added that two of the people said London-based telecom firm BT is keen on buying TalkTalk's wholesale and retail businesses. TalkTalk sells home broadband and phone services in the UK. Its PXC offering, meanwhile, supplies other telecom providers with internet connectivity services. BT's Openreach is a network infrastructure supplier of TalkTalk.
----------
Puma SE, down 2.5% at EUR21.82, 12-month range EUR15.30-EUR30.10. Puma falls in a negative read across after fellow sportswear firm Nike Inc struggles after reporting earnings. Nike is down 10% in pre-market dealings in New York. Nike said net income fell 2.1% to USD712 million in the three months to August 31 from USD727 million the year prior. Basic and diluted earnings per share declined to USD0.48 from USD0.49 a year ago, beating FactSet consensus of USD0.43. Revenue dipped 4.4% to USD11.21 billion compared with USD11.72 billion a year ago, or by 5% at constant currency rates, missing FactSet consensus of USD11.38 billion. By region and at constant currency, North America sales rose 2.2% on-year, Europe, Middle East & Asia fell 5%, Greater China slumped 26% and Asia Pacific & Latin America was flat.
----------
Kering, down 1.8% at EUR213.50, 12-month range EUR203.20-EUR354.20. Shares fall following a sell-side call. Analysts at Citi and Berenberg note the luxury firm struck a "cautious" tone. "The tone was more cautious than at the 1H26 results presentation, reflecting sector-wide softness over the summer and a more gradual recovery," Citi says. Berenberg notes: "Management struck a cautious tone on current trading, noting that the consumer environment has deteriorated since July's guidance of a flattish quarter."
