(AWP Alliance News) - Bank of America Corp - Charlotte, North Carolina-based bank - Launches USD250 billion, 18-month critical infrastructure finance initiative in celebration of the country's 250th anniversary. The company said the initiative will "support the development of digital, energy and power, and core infrastructure that enhances national competitiveness by strengthening energy security, accelerating technological leadership and enabling long-term economic growth." Investment areas include three categories: digital infrastructure, energy and power infrastructure and core infrastructure. Digital infrastructure investments will cover data centres, computing infrastructure, telecommunications and semiconductors. Energy and power infrastructure investments will cover conventional and renewable power generation and energy storage. Core infrastructure investments will cover transportation, electric and energy transmission, grid optimisation, water systems, critical minerals and mining. "The infrastructure that powers our economy, strengthens our energy security and secures our technological leadership will drive growth, create jobs and define America's next chapter," says Jim DeMare, co-president of Bank of America.
