European stock movers in focus:

----------

Royal Philips NV, up 5.1% at EUR25.76 in Amsterdam, 12-month range EUR20.90-EUR27.70. The electronics and medical device manufacturer reaches a deal "in principle" with US authorities to settle a long-running case over faulty sleep machines. The matter centres on a recall of its DreamStation machines for sleep apnoea. Millions of devices were recalled over concerns that users were at risk of inhaling pieces of noise-cancelling foam and fears that it could potentially cause cancer. In quarterly results, Philips says it has "reached an agreement in principle with the US Department of Justice to resolve the previously disclosed criminal and civil investigations". It sets aside EUR288 million provision as a result. Philips says third quarter net income slumps to EUR28 million from EUR187 million, but net sales rise 2.1% to EUR4.39 billion from EUR4.30 billion.

----------

Bayer AG, up 3.8% at EUR51.94, 12-month range EUR25.78-EUR53.92. Bayer raises its annual outlook, as it reports higher third-quarter earnings. The Leverkusen, Germany-based pharmaceutical group says earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation, excluding special items, increase 6.9% to EUR1.62 billion from EUR1.51 billion. It lifts its currency-adjusted full-year Ebitda guidance, excluding special items, to between EUR9.8 billion and EUR10.3 billion from EUR9.6 billion to EUR10.1 billion previously, and compared with EUR9.67 billion in 2025.

----------

Lottomatica Group Spa, up 3.4% at EUR27.48, 12-month range EUR18.66-EUR28.29. The Rome-based betting operator reports a net profit of EUR155.3 million for the nine months that ended September 30, a rise of 58% from EUR98.3 million. Total revenue amounts to EUR1.72 billion, up 5.0% from EUR1.64 billion.

----------

Hiscox Ltd, up 3.4% at 1,946.5p, 12-month range 1,288.00p-1,952.00p. The insurer reports a rise in premiums, while saying insurance claims were within expectations in the third quarter. For the first nine months of 2026, total insurance contract written premiums total USD4.44 billion, up 9.5% from USD4.05 billion a year before. Hiscox says insurance claims were within expectations in the third quarter alone. "In big-ticket, benign natural catastrophe loss experience in the third quarter more than offset marine losses from the ongoing Middle East conflict," Hiscox explains.

----------

Deutsche Lufthansa AG, up 3.3% at EUR7.71 in Zurich, 12-month range EUR6.94-EUR10.29. The German flag carrier says third-quarter operating profit amounts to EUR1.47 billion, a rise of 9.3% from EUR1.34 billion. Revenue climbs at the same pace to EUR12.24 billion, its best ever quarterly revenue figure. "With rising revenues amid consistently high demand and strict cost discipline, we were able to more than offset the increase in fuel costs of approximately half a billion euros," Chair & Chief Executive Officer Carsten Spohr says.
