(AWP Alliance News) - ABB Ltd on Thursday announced a strategic partnership with LevelTen Energy Inc and said it made a minority investment in the provider of transaction infrastructure for clean energy.
ABB, a Zurich, Switzerland-based electrification and automation company, did not disclose the financial details of its investment.
Based in Seattle, Washington, LevelTen Energy provides transaction infrastructure for buyers, sellers, advisors, and financiers in the renewable energy economy.
ABB aims to strengthen its energy and carbon advisory services offering by combining its electrification expertise, digital solutions and energy management with LevelTen's platform.
"One important piece missing from the solutions we provide today: a straightforward way to secure long-term clean energy at the right price. LevelTen Energy brings exactly that capability.
"Through the partnership, ABB will be able to extend its growing energy and carbon advisory services portfolio with renewable energy procurement capabilities, helping customers move from planning and implementation to ongoing optimization and reporting," said Stuart Thompson, president of Electrification Service division at ABB.
The investment was made via ABB Electrification's venture capital arm ABB Electrification Ventures.
ABB shares closed marginally lower at CHF82.32 each in Zurich on Thursday.
