Most employees in Switzerland have job contracts with social insurance contributions from their employer, but some don’t. The latter, known by the acronym "ANobAG" in German, are by no means rare. Take for example a British software developer working in Zurich for a US company that doesn’t have a permanent establishment in Switzerland.
