When do I have to register for VAT?

Companies with an annual revenue of more than CHF 100,000 in Switzerland are required to pay value added tax on their revenue. You can register for VAT at www.estv.admin.ch. Value added tax is calculated on an effective basis or using net tax rates. The VAT number is the company identification number including the suffix “MWST”. Example: CHE-123.456.789MWST
